Commercial Construction

Commercial & Residential
New Builds

New construction is where a plumbing mistake costs the most, because the underground rough-in gets buried under a slab and nobody gets to look at it again. Strip mall, office build-out, or custom home, we install it to the code the city inspects against, and we’re on site when the inspector is.

Rough-in is the pipe that goes in before the slab and inside the open walls. Top-out is what gets connected once framing is done, ahead of your finish-out crew. Each stage gets its own inspection, and the schedule only holds if both pass the first time.

We pull the city permits and meet the inspector, from underground rough-in through final. The full scope — rough-in, top-out, GC coordination — is on the commercial and new-build plumbing page.

Remodels

A master bath, a commercial kitchen, an outdoor cooking area: the plumbing in a remodel is decided by the layout drawing before anyone touches a pipe. Moving a drain on a slab house means cutting concrete, and we’d rather tell you that while the plan is still a sketch.

We work inside your GC’s schedule or directly with you: rough-in with the walls open, inspection, then trim-out after the tile and cabinets are in. We leave the space clean between visits.

We manage the city permits so your remodel stays on schedule. What that looks like job by job is on the remodel plumbing page.

Fixture work is the bulk of it: shower installation roughed in before the tile crew arrives, toilet installation with the flange reset to the new floor height, and repairs on what stays — shower repair and toilet repair when the fixture is worth keeping.

Emergency & Scheduled

Service Calls —
24/7 Response

When a pipe bursts at 2am or your water heater fails on a holiday weekend, X-Act Plumbing answers the call. Our 24/7 emergency availability means you're never left waiting with damage mounting. That is emergency plumbing, and it runs around the clock.

For scheduled service calls, we provide accurate diagnostics, transparent pricing before any work begins, and clean, efficient repairs. Every vehicle arrives fully stocked with the tools and parts needed to handle most jobs on the spot. When the problem is a leak nobody can see, leak detection finds it before anything gets opened up.

Most of those calls are repairs on something that was working last week: plumbing leak repair on a slab or pinhole leak, faucet repair when a fixture starts dripping, and faucet installation when it’s past rebuilding.

Slab Leak Repair

Precision detection and reliable repair to protect your foundation.

Water Heater

Tank and tankless replacement to restore hot water fast.

Specialty & Compliance

Testing, Certification
& Specialty Work

Some plumbing work needs a license, the right equipment, and paperwork that holds up in front of an inspector or a buyer. We perform hydrostatic testing for home sales, slab leak diagnosis, and foundation repair verification, with written results you can hand to an inspector or buyer.

For businesses, we handle backflow prevention testing and certification, and grease trap installation and service for restaurants and commercial kitchens. And when a drain clog keeps coming back, a cable only punches a hole; hydro-jetting scours the line clean, once a camera has shown the pipe can take it.

Licensed testing with written results

  • Sewer camera inspection
  • Written test results

Which of these do I actually need?

Describe what you’re seeing and we’ll tell you on the phone. Water where it shouldn’t be is a leak detection call if nobody can find it and a plumbing leak repair call if you can. A fixture that drips or won’t shut off is faucet, toilet or shower repair. Anything that involves opening a wall or moving a line is remodel work. The three categories that aren’t on this page have their own: drainage, gas installation, and water heating.

Do I need a permit, and who pulls it?

In Red Oak and Waxahachie, like-for-like fixture swaps on existing connections don’t need one. Relocating supply or drain lines, repipes and any gas work do. The Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners issues the permit against a Responsible Master Plumber license, not a journeyman card, which is why the RMP number on a bid matters. Ours is RMP-44569, Daniel Clayburn. We pull it and meet the inspector.

What don’t you do?

Tile, cabinets, and electrical. A shower pan rebuild is a tile job with plumbing inside it, and a dual-fuel range needs an electrician for the 240-volt side; we’ll say so up front rather than on install day. We also don’t work on furnaces, heat pumps or air handlers. Our heating category is water heating only. And irrigation past the backflow device is a separately licensed trade in Texas, so broken sprinkler heads aren’t ours either. What we do, we do under one license, out of 198 Brothers Blvd Ste 300 in Red Oak, across Ellis, Dallas and Kaufman counties.

Common Questions

Plumbing Services FAQ

Are you licensed and insured in Texas?

Yes. Daniel Clayburn holds Texas Master Plumber license RMP-44569, issued by the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners, and X-Act Plumbing LLC is insured for residential and commercial work. The RMP number is what a city permit is issued against, and you can check it on the TSBPE public license search before you hire anyone.

Do you charge for an estimate in Red Oak?

Not on anything bigger than a service call. Remodels, repipes, new construction and similar jobs get a free estimate, usually from the drawing or a site visit. A service call to diagnose a problem is a visit with a price you hear before we start, because the diagnosis is the work.

What areas do you cover?

Red Oak is home, and we work across Waxahachie, Ferris, Kaufman, Ovilla, Oak Leaf, Glenn Heights, Midlothian, Ennis and Palmer, which covers Ellis County and reaches into Dallas and Kaufman counties. Same license, same response, whichever town the address is in.

Do you do commercial plumbing?

Yes. Tenant build-outs, multi-family and light-commercial new construction, along with repairs and remodels on existing commercial space. Grease interceptors on a restaurant build and backflow protection on the service get specified before the underground goes in, not retrofitted after an inspection fails.

Do you offer financing?

On larger jobs, yes. Remodels, repipes, new builds and other work that runs past a standard service call can be set up on a payment plan. Ask when you call (469) 505-8362 and we will walk you through the options before any work is scheduled.
